Dogs love peanut butter and this treat will be a big hit!
Ingredients
2 cups oat flour
1 cup rolled oats
1⁄3 cup peanut butter smooth
1 cup hot water
1 egg (for egg wash)
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 ̊F. Place all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
Step 2
Pour hot water over rolled oats and peanut butter. Add more flour if too wet, more water if too dry. Knead the dough.
Step 3
Roll out dough into 1⁄4-inch thickness and use cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Step 4
Beat egg in a small bowl and brush on to each cookie. Bake for 40 minutes.
Step 5
Move to a cooling rack, or turn off oven and let cookies cool for an hour inside of oven (optional), then move them to a rack.
Notes
Zu loves crunchy treats so I leave them in the oven to cool for 30-60 minutes to remove more moisture. This step is optional.
Treats are good for 2 weeks in the refrigerator or up to three months in a freezer.
Use organic ingredients when possible.
