I find it to be very serene when photographing the moon. It's usually a later-night shoot so by the time my gear is set up, I'm relaxing while waiting for it to move and change. However, checking for sharpness and detail is constant. It makes you think about how incredible that creation is, orbiting our planet from 239,000 miles away, and I can still capture the shot.
The shot above was taken in September 2019. Camera settings: Canon 5D Mark IV, 600mm, 1/30 sec, f/16, ISO 100.

Super moon taken November 2016. Camera settings: Canon 5D Mark III, 600mm, 1/500 sec, f/11, ISO 500.
